Arunachal Pradesh – The Land of Rising Sun, it’s a mysterious, magical and mystical land tucked away in the north eastern tip of India is one of the most compelling holiday destinations in India. It is the largest state in terms of geographical area among the North Eastern States. Indian tourists require an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Arunachal Pradesh. It can be obtained from the Guwahati, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Kolkata or Delhi office of the state government. Foreign nationals require a permit known as Restricted Area Permit (RAP)/ Protected Area Permit (PAP). This can be obtained from the different FRRO offices located in major cities of India.
Bhalukpong is the boder town of Assam and Arunachal and also entry point for Arunachal Pradesh. There is a check post where you will have to show your inner line permit before entering Arunachal. The Assam side of Bhalukpong has a large number of shops lined up to the border.

Dirang is a small town located in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, a state in northeastern India and its 40 Km away from Bomdila. It is located in the eastern Himalaya range at an elevation of 4910 ft and on the bank of river Kameng, which makes the weather not very cold and quite pleasant during most of the year.

Tawang is a town and administrative headquarter of Tawang district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Tawang is both historically and naturally endowed. It is located at a distance of 183 Kms from Bomdila and is situated at an altitude of 3500 metres above sea level. The natural beauty and solitude of Gudpi and Chong-Chugmi ranges, Tawang chu River and Tawang valley are very mesmerizing. The inhabitants of the districts are all of Monpa tribes except Shyo village which is dominated by people of Tibetian origin.
The area of the district is approximately 2085 sq. km. bordered by Tibet in the North, Bhutan in the South-West and Sela ranges separate West Kameng district in the East. Elevations range between 6,000 to 22,000 feet (6,700 m), and inhabitants are found at lower altitude, where they enjoy a cool temperate climate.
The town of Tawang is primarily inhabited by the Monpa people, who follow Buddhism as their predominant religion. The famous Tawang Monastery, also known as the Galden Namgyal Lhatse, is the largest Buddhist monastery in India and one of the most significant landmarks in the region. There are many beautiful grlacial lakes in and around Tawang with crystal blue waters such as Sela lake, P.T.Tso lake, Sangetser lake and many more. These remain frozen in winter while in summer they become haven for migratory birds.
